a. OBJECTIVES:
  • Providing teaching within a research-led environment
  • To provide students with a broad background knowledge in modern anatomy.
  • Encourage students to develop oral, written, numerical, presentation, and collaborative skills relevant to a wide range of employment.
  • The Department of Anatomy aims to promote and maintain the importance of understanding the structure of the body, which is at the forefront of medicine, clinical examination, nursing, and therapeutic practice. The aim is to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.
  • Anatomy aims to promote horizontal and vertical integration of basic sciences, as well as the integration of anatomy with modern medical imaging, creating factual content relevant to each of the student groups we teach

b. INFRASTRUCTURE

The Department of Anatomy includes an anatomical hall, a cadaver preservation area, a histology laboratory, a research laboratory, a seminar and library room, faculty rooms and a museum


c. TEACHING FACILIITES:

The Department of Anatomy is dedicated to teaching Human Anatomy to medical and paramedical students of this institution. The department has a spacious dissection hall where cadavers and prosecuted parts are available for demonstration to the students.


d. HISTOLOGY LAB :

The department has a well-equipped histology lab with good quality microscopes. Slides of various tissues and organs are available for study. Audiovisual aids are used in the department to facilitate reinforcement of knowledge.


e. Body Donation Services

Body donation services are being provided to the public in this sector. Any person in Namakkal district who wishes to be a body donor after death can approach this department.
